Leonardo DiCaprio has asked to meet with the Prime Minister of Thailand in an attempt to leapfrog the ever-increasing problems dogging the film's production. According to government sources the film's producers requested a meeting through a local MP. The actor now has to make a formal request for an audience with Chuan Leekpai. Landscaping the film's set on the small Thai island of Phi Phi has brought a hail of protest from locals claiming the filming is destroying the Maya Park conservation area. A court recently refused to grant an injunction halting filming. It's expected that the PM could smooth out problems if DiCaprio praises the country's tourist industry, one of the few boomers left after the country's economic collapase last year.
