Demme Drops Hannibal

Silence of the Lambs director Jonathan Demme has reportedly passed on the opportunity to film its sequel. Hannibal, written by Lambs author Thomas Harris, is the third novel about the fictitious psychopath. Sources told an American magazine that Demme had decided not to come on board with the project, although Anthony Hopkins is expected to reprise his role as Hannibal Lecter.
