New Line thinks it has found the hot new market for niche films – people who, er, want to open a deli.
No, really. The studio is planning to adapt Ben Ryder Howe’s soon-to-be-published book about a couple of drop out of the rat race and open up a delicatessen My Korean Deli.
There is now writer or director attached yet, but producer Meryl Poster thinks the idea has legs – possibly spicy chicken ones. "It has heart and humour. In our hectic lives, everyone dreams of opening a deli," she told Variety. Do we? Do we really? Okay then, crazy lady.
