It might seem like he’s been a film face forever, but Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe got his start on the goggle box.
And he’s just decided to jump back to telly after shooting the fifth Potter movie, snagging a role in ITV’s My Boy Jack.
It’s the tale of how Jungle Book author Rudyard Kipling wrangled an officer’s commission for his 17-year-old son in World War One, despite the boy having all the vision skills of a mole with broken glasses.
The true-life story ended tragically for the Kiplings as Jack never came back from fighting in France, and the family spent years looking for his body. "For many people my age, the First World War is just a topic in a history book," Radcliffe told Variety. "But I've always been fascinated by the subject and think it's as relevant today as it ever was, with young men still sacrificing their lives in the name of war."
