Remaking '80s horror The Stepfather

Because no studio ever met a horror film it didn’t want to remake, Screen Gems has grabbed the rights to 1987’s The Stepfather.

The original starred Lost’s Terry O’Quinn in the based-on-truth tale of a man looking for the perfect family. When the wife and kids around him fail to meet his high standards, he slaughters them and moves on.

There’s no writer, director or cast attached yet. And even if there were, they wouldn’t be good enough.
