Wes looks for the eye drops

These Hollywood types do work hard, you know. Not content with just having finished shooting (and re-shooting) werewolf drama Cursed with Christina Ricci and Joshua Jackson, Wes Craven has signed on for a serious bit of jetlag with Red Eye. Not entirely surprisingly, it's a thriller not a rom com; although we shouldn't try to pigeonhole him - Craven did direct the "inspirational" Meryl Streep-teaches-violin movie Music of the Heart a few years back, in which there were hardly any senseless stabbings / maulings / monsters. No, Red Eye tells the story of a woman held captive on a plane. Her captor threatens to kill her father unless she helps him to assassinate a wealthy businessman. Like, zoiks! Incidentally, is it just us or if every thriller these days set on a plane? Apart from the sublime sounding Snakes on a Plane from Ronny Yu, there's also the Jodie Foster thriller Flight Plane and the truly disastrous Soul Plane headed our way. It seems that aeronautical vehicles are the new Elm Streets.
