A world apart from her recent troubles on stage with whilst touring with Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love of rock band Hole, is turning her attention to movie production, setting up a company whose first picture will be a teen romantic comedy. Love's first dabble with the big screen - aside form her bit part roles in Alex Cox films - came in 1996 as the self-destructive partner of Larry Flynt (Woody Harrelson) in Milos Forman's The People vs. Larry Flynt. Her latest venture is Forman's Andy Kaufman movie Man on the Moon, starring Jim Carrey, scheduled to open November 5. Epitome Productions - Love's venture - was established with music manager Janet Billig. It goes without question that Love will more than likely appear in some of the projects it develops, though she'll make no appearance in its debut effort, I Think We're Alone Now. As yet without a director, the story follows two mismatched teenagers who are head over heels with each other but are kept apart by increasingly bizarre circumstances. Finance and distribution is being provided by Miramax's Dimension Films genre banner. Love and Billig will produce. Speaking of the venture, Love, who kicks off a US tour next month, said: "The goal of Epitome is to make original, high-quality films. In all our projects we seek to find partners that share a common goal. Dimension's success has shown its ability to make films that speak to today's teen audience."
