George Clooney has confessed that it was a bad idea to take on the role of Batman in last year's mega-flop, Batman & Robin. "It was unsuccessful both as box office and as a film," he said in an interview with the New York Post, "It was disappointing, and I didn't really work in the role. I have to take some responsibility for it. Career-wise, it was a great opportunity for me, the greatest ever." Last week it was announced that studio bosses had decided he would not now be appearing as the Caped Crusader again.
