Despite it's huge success, there will be no sequel to Chicken Run, a spokesperson for Aardman Animation has announced. Dark Horizons reports the spokesperson told Reuters, "We are not going to consider a Chicken Run II", adding, "there is of course pressure for a Chicken Run sequel but right now it would be impossible". The reason that a sequel is out of the question is given as being the next Aardman projects - a Wallace and Gromit feature and a version of the Tortoise and the Hare. These are expected to take up the next five years of the company's time. Also, an advertisment designed to turn Chicken Run fans off eating meat has been banned for being too disturbing for children. The commercial, by vegetarian group Viva!, features footage of a battery hen in a tiny cage with the slogan 'Chicken can't run'. It was supposed to run in conjunction with leafletting outside cinemas, a tactic which saw pork sales fall by 10% after a similar campaign during the release of Babe.
