Channel 4 balked at Full Monty

Britains's Channel Four Productions have admitted to investing heavily in the production of The Full Monty only to pull out when it appeared to be getting too costly with a budget of $3.7 million. The film has gone on to earn over $225 million worldwide, and is the most successful film in British history. Channel Four's head of film Paul Webster told the Daily Mirror: "I hope we never make that mistake again."
