Richard Dreyfuss has been forced to withdraw from the London production of The Producers after a recurring shoulder injury became too severe for him to continue in his role as Max Bialystock. Dreyfuss has been struggling with the injury through months of rehearsal, but finally realised that he would not be able to soldier on for the duration of the show. It's due to open on 9 November at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, but all is not lost
