Having made a splash in the music world as a hip-hop artist, producer and social activist, Chance The Rapper (AKA Chance Bennett) has been looking to break into the movie world. He has one lead role under his belt with horror comedy Slice and is now part of the team developing a new musical pic called Hope.

MGM is stumping up the cash to make the film, which will be produced by Pat Corcoran and Scott Bernstein. Carlito Rodriguez, who has worked as a writer on TV's Empire and The Leftovers, is on script duty.

Regular chance collaborator Nico Segal is helping put the music together for the movie, which will follow a group of Chicago teenagers who band together to turn art into action within their community.

Chance will also be providing vocals for Trolls World Tour, due out on 20 March, 2020.
