“So who’s called Monty?”

First we had the Sheffield phrase-book on the American Full Monty site. Now we learn that US backers Fox Searchlight scanned the script searching for the character called Monty. Studio execs finally agreed to the title, probably because the budget was so weeny, after rejecting such pearlers as No Man's Land and, wait for it, Eggs, Beans and Chippendales. Screenwriter Simon Beaufoy also reckons the flic was nearly shot in Detroit. Fox doesn't know how lucky it really is
