Bring Back My 5ft Rubber Spider!

It's often said that you can't leave anything lying around a British city unless it's nailed down and, to prove this point, a number of 5 foot latex spiders have been abducted from their homes on billboards around the centre of Newcastle. Advertising Eight Legged Freaks the giant spiders were affixed to posters for the film but found themselves half-inched mere days after going on display. "When we run special promotions we get a lot of people ringing in asking if we could give them the posters when we are finished with them," a spokesperson for Dumac Billboarding told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle. "We knew the spiders would be popular when we put them up." Quite how someone can walk through the streets with a man-sized rubber spider under their arm and not attract any undue attention is a mystery but then, such sights may be quite common in Newcastle...
