Bond is back and nevermind the world, this former Secret Service agent is fighting for Scotland - or rather parliamentary seats in a flagging nationalist campaign. Sean Connery - whose forearm is emblazoned with a tattoo which reads 'Scotland Forever' - yesterday urged members of the Scottish National Party (SNP) to spread the good Scottish independence word to voters before the May 6 poll which is set to break history. "Scotland should be nothing less than equal with all other nations of the world," boomed the defiant 68-year-old to a rousing ovation from an SNP rally in his hometown of Edinburgh. "We have waited nearly 300 years. My hope is that the parliament will evolve with dignity and integrity." A long-standing SNP supporter, Connery undertook the cause after opinion polls showed SNP support at just 29 percent compared to Tony Blair's considerable support of 47 percent. Also, by chance, around to promote his new film Entrapment, Connery - who is unable to vote ad who has been blocked from receiving a knighthood by Labour - said of his rallying, "Everything I have done has been for Scotland's benefit, not my own." He also launched a scathing attack on Scottish media over his recent treatment after being snapped apparently lunging at a paparazzi photographer in LA, which was then front paged on a local tabloid with the headline, 'You've seen the poll then, Sean'. "I have never in my life witnessed or experienced such shameful abuse by the Scottish media. I'm ashamed and I'm angry," he said.
