Thriller about psycho parking attendant

Valets. Never trusted those guys. Who knows what nefarious business they get up to while you’ve entrusted them with their keys? They could be going for a joyride, or tuning your stereo to Radio 1, or leaving an unwanted present in the glove compartment. Or, they could become obsessed with you and worm their way into your life before going all psycho doolally on you.

That’s the plot of an upcoming thriller called, simply, Valet. And just to be clear, the psycho doolally business is the plot, not the tuning your stereo to Radio 1. That would be a horror movie.

Anyway, Alcon Entertainment has hired Brad Furman to direct the movie, which is about a parking attendant who becomes obsessed with a female customer. Scarily, it’s based on a true story. But then again, in a way we’re glad that this happened, as it’s inspired a movie that has the potential to be quite dramatic. As opposed to a film where a guy just parks cars for a living.

Matthew Aldrich is currently rewriting Alan McElroy’s original script. No date for filming has yet been set, which is just as well, as nobody’s been cast. But we hope this will be valet valet good.

Oh God, someone take our writing keys away from us. We’re over the limit!
