The TV spin-off of Blade has been picked up for a series.

The US network Spike has seen and approved a two-hour pilot film and ordered 13 episodes of the show. It’s the first scripted TV series for the network.

Executive produced by Blade overseer David Goyer, the series replaces Wesley Snipes with Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones as Blade. Jones was last seen in Flight Of The Phoenix.

There’s no word on whether a UK TV channel will buy the series, so stay tuned.
