A master of monkey business he may be but few could have guessed Jack Black would land the lead role of Carl Denham in Peter Jackson's King Kong remake. Starring opposite Naomi Watts' Ann Darrow, the portly prince of screen comedy will pick up where Robert Armstrong left off back in 1933 as the adventure filmmaker out to make a name for himself. "I've been wanting to work with Jack Black ever since I saw him in High Fidelity," Jackson told the Hollywood Reporter. "He's a smart and versatile actor blessed with an abundance of energy and charm."' All this is true but he's nevertheless an unlikely choice for a remake of what is possibly the greatest monster movie of all time.
