In recognition of her contribution to cinema, Aussie actress Meryl Streep has received a special award of thanks and respect from the Berlin International Film Festival. Donated by Berlin jeweler David Goldberg, the festival awards the 'Berlinale Kamera' - a small gilded camera - to actors or actresses to whom, it feels specially bound, in an expression of recognition for their achievement. The award was presented to Streep just before the screening late Saturday of the recent film in which she stars, 'One True Thing', with festival organisers stating, "Meryl Streep is one of the most exceptional actresses in the international history of film."
