Although half of Hollywood, including the likes of Dustin Hoffman and Faye Dunaway, were expecting to hear Warren Beatty declare his intention to run for the US presidency at a gala dinner last night, the actor refused to be drawn on his ambitions. Speaking at the Beverly Hilton, where he was presented with the Americans for Democratic Action Eleanor Roosevelt Award 'for a lifetime of creative and political integrity' Beatty talked about the importance of public health care, declaring that whoever the next President was, they 'should not let Congress go home until every American has health care.' Throwing further confusion into the debate, Beatty went on to say he 'liked making movies and wanted to continue making them.' If you think Americans are mad to even dream of putting another actor in the White House, or that Beatty would be a top bloke for the job there's a chance to express that opinion. Head for www.beatty2000.com and tell him what you really think.
