Something is afoot, dear readers, and it concerns the upcoming Superman film. Last night there was a surge of excitement (and an equal air of dread) when a news item appeared on Michael Bay's official site bearing the Superman logo in all its glory. What did this mean? Has Bay signed on to direct the upcoming adaptation? Have Warners seen the light and shown McG the door? Why Michael Bay of all people? But, just as the screaming debate was reaching fever pitch, all changed. Bay's site went down and, when it returned, the logo had mysteriously vanished. Did someone jump the gun? Was the news supposed to remain a secret? Or was it all the wish-fulfilling fantasies of one of the site operators? At the moment it looks to be the latter as official word lends no credence to Bay's involvement with the film. Warner Bros has categorically denied ever approaching the director and insists that (for better or worse) McG is still the man for the job. So it's all nothing but hearsay. Well, that or cunningly concealed conspiracy reaching to the highest echelons of power. Truth be told, we're not sure which would be the better outcome.
To Bay Or Not To Bay
The great Superman mystery
