You may recall that, last month, we brought you the exclusive first word on Edgar Wright's new film, a psychological horror to be set in London, featuring a female lead. Now word has arrived on who will be that lead, with Anya Taylor-Joy landing the main role in Last Night In Soho.

Plot details for the film, written by Wright and Krysty Wilson-Cairns remain a secret for now, but the director has cited inspirations including Don't Look Now and Repulsion, so draw from those as you will. Expect terror stalking the streets of Soho. The aim is for Edgar and his crew to have the cameras rolling this summer.

Taylor-Joy is no stranger to creepiness, with films such as The Witch, Split and Glass under her belt. She'll show up in The New Mutants (due 2 August), and is lending her voice to both Playmobil: The Movie (9 August) and the Dark Crystal TV series.
