Jason Scott Lee has some history with Disney – he played Mowgli in the 1994 live-action Jungle Book and voiced David Kawena in Lilo & Stitch. The actor is back in the Mouse House's employ for the new, live-action take on Mulan.

With Niki Caro in the director's chair, the film will once again chronicle the adventure of the title character (played by Liu Yifei), who takes her father's place in the army when a threat arises.

Lee is taking the role of Bori Khan, a warrior leader with his own father issues – he's looking to avenge his death. He'll be one of the movie's main antagonists alongside Gong Li.

The new Mulan is in pre-production, ready to shoot with an eye towards a 2020 release date.
