After stealing scenes as Drax in both Guardians Of The Galaxy movies and snagging small roles in big films such as Spectre and this week's Blade Runner 2049, Dave Bautista's looking to grow his career and score more leading man gigs. He's now made a deal with STX Entertainment for his own action-comedy film all involved hope will lead to a franchise.

Clearly aiming to take a leaf out of The Rock's book, the wrestler-turned-actor has been putting in good work for a few years now, and seems primed for a breakout on his own. He has several projects in development, but none of them have thus far yielded results. There are no details on the new movie, but we do know that Jonathan Meisner is aboard to co-produce.

In addition to his Marvel work (which includes having Drax be part of the two upcoming Avengers movies), he'll be seen in Hotel Artemis, the Escape Plan sequel and several others. Blade Runner 2049 is arriving now and Bautista was also part of a short that helped to fill in some of the events between the original Blade Runner and the follow-up.
