Neverwinter Nights 2

Fantasy games don’t come with a better pedigree than Neverwinter Nights. Based on the original daddy of role-playing epics — Dungeons & Dragons — and brought to life by a team of experts whose previous triumphs include

the exceptional Knights Of The Old Republic 2, Neverwinter Nights 2 has been tipped as

this season’s hottest RPG. And the finished product certainly doesn’t disappoint.

Essentially an old-school swords and sorcery swashbuckler, NW2 offers infinitely more scope than previous dungeon-crawls: now your team can include controllable companions, each of whom is touched by morality and a detailed backstory that affects how the plot unfolds; you can establish a castle stronghold and manage the population living there; and the developers have improved the toolkit, allowing anyone to become a Dungeon Master.

Those looking for quick thrills won’t find them here, but if you’re willing to put in the hours to discover the best that NW2 has to offer, you’ll be bewitched by one of the deepest and most captivating quests of the past 12 months.
