Although Lara Crofts 1996 debut was a cultural phenomenon that helped shift public perceptions of video gaming, her subsequent escapades have lacked the dizzying excitement of the original.
Sadly, The Angel Of Darkness doesnt put Lara back at the top. Ms. Crofts first PS2 outing evolves the traditional Tomb Raider formula with new moves that allow players to sneak past enemies, unleash kung fu moves and interact
with the environments. The game offers a mature story and dynamic cameras that sweep around the action for a more cinematic experience. But in changing Lara from a one-dimensional Indiana Jones-in-hotpants to a dark and troubled heroine with issues to resolve, gamings celebrated leading lady has lost much of her charm.
