Futurama Review

Futurama

Although The Simpsons has inspired a slew of console spin-offs, no game has ever done justice to Matt Groening’s characters or twisted sense of humour. Thankfully, Futurama goes some way to redressing the balance.

Blending platform, exploration, shooting and racing sequences, Futurama offers a dynamic range of challenges that keeps players on their toes. Even better, the game captures the visual style and offbeat humour of its source material, with cut-scenes that look just like the TV series, characters voiced by the original actors, and in-jokes at every turn.

On the downside, the jumble of genres is shamelessly derivative, and it has all been done before — and better — by

a million other games.
