Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders are officially live, and predictably, they're vanishing as fast as they appear. Since Nintendo lifted the lid last month, securing a console ahead of the 5 June launch has felt like chasing a blue shell: blink and it's gone. With demand sky-high for the sequel to one of the best-selling consoles ever made, the rollout has been less of a smooth launch and more of a scramble, with surprise drops, sudden sell-outs, and plenty of players left staring at the dreaded "Out of stock" screen.
Right now, stock is available at the My Nintendo Store for Switch Online members, while retailers like Very, Currys, and The Game Collection continue to drip-feed bundles when the stars align. Base consoles are still a blink-and-you'll-miss-it affair. The initial pre-order rollout saw a kind of golden-ticket entry system for users with an active 12-month Switch Online membership and at least 50 hours of gameplay logged before 2 April. That's since expanded to a broader offer for Online members on the official site, but Amazon's still keeping it cloak-and-dagger behind invite-only links, though, so if you haven't received an email yet, hang tight.
We're tracking it all in real time – every drop, bundle, and sudden restock – so if you're chasing a launch-day console, this is the page to watch. Best to bookmark and check back regularly. Already dreaming about your day-one download queue? Check out our Switch 2 game guide, where we've rounded up every confirmed title you can pre-order right now.

Is the Switch 2 on sale in the US?
While most US retailers are just as cryptic as the Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order UK stockists, some buyers have spotted early pre-order listings on Walmart and Amazon US. These links may flicker in and out of stock, but it's worth checking, especially with launch day creeping ever-closer.
Live Update Feed
Some good news for the minimalists. The standalone Switch 2 is back in stock at Very – no Switch Online required. This is the cheapest way to get your hands on one. But, as always, blink and it's gone.
– 16 May 2025 11:24
The Mario Kart World bundle is live again at Very. £429.99 with the game pre-installed. Less time downloading, more time writing off your Koopa's kart.
– 16 May 2025 10:30
That's all for today's Nintendo Switch 2 stock hunt! Congrats to those who nabbed a standalone console. If you missed out, don't worry – bundles are available at Very, The Game Collection, Currys, ShopTo, and My Nintendo Store (for Switch Online members). For the base console, check back with us tomorrow.
– 15 May 2025 18:00
Very has the best-value Switch 2 deals right now, offering the base console or a bundle that includes Mario Kart World. Cheaper than buying the game separately later, the bundle is your best bet. Pre-order now at Very.
– 15 May 2025 11:30
At Very, you can still grab the console – either on its own or with a side of Mario Kart World. It's easily the cheapest Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order deal around right now. Grab 'em while you can.
– 14 May 2025 12:00
It's Very again. They're offering the Nintendo Switch 2 by itself – a rare find, and one which is likely to quickly disappear if recent history is anything to go by.
– 13 May 2025 14:45
Very's dropped three Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order bundles: Mario Paparazzi (Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + camera), the Mario Memory (Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Samsung microSD), and Kart & Kingdom (Switch 2 + Mario Kart World + Tears of the Kingdom).
– 13 May 2025 11:30
Drop alert. Currys have a Nintendo Switch 2 bundle live right now that comes with Mario Kart World, a pair of Joy-Cons, a pair of Joy-Con Wheels, and the Switch 2 camera. If you're planning to race your mates and record the drama in HD, this one's for you.
– 13 May 2025 11:00
Smyths is out. We're spiralling. The hunt continues for Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders not bundled with half the tech aisle. For now, your best bet is Currys: still offering the console with a Pro Controller, camera, and Street Fighter 6. If that combo lands, grab it while you can. In the meantime, hit up our game guide to get your pre-orders sorted.
– 12 May 2025 12:00
Currys are bundling the Switch 2 with Mario Kart World, two Joy-Con Wireless Controllers, two Joy-Con Wheels and a Switch 2 camera. If you were hoping to get some extra accessories to accompany your new console, this could be just what you're looking for. They also have a Street Fighter 6 option in case beat 'em ups are more your thing. Either way, they're both available for pre-order now.
– 9 May 2025 12:30
Go, go, go! The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Pack just dropped at Smyths Toys. If you've been waiting for a clean, no-fuss option, this is it. Get in there before it vanishes into a warp pipe.
– 8 May 2025 16:20
For those checking in or joining us, a quick reminder: The Amazon glitch is still in play alongside The Game Collection bundle and My Nintendo Store pre-orders (for subscription holders). Hit this pre-order link and it’ll fast-track you to the basket page. If it says "empty basket," don't close it. Keep the tab open, refresh regularly, and wait. Plenty of people have broken through this way.
– 8 May 2025 13:25
The cheaper bundle's gone, but yesterday's chunkier Switch 2 bundle is still live at The Game Collection. You're getting the Mario Kart World Tour Edition (pre-installed), a carry case, 256GB SD card, plus physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hitman: World of Assassination. Worth it if those games are on your radar, or if you've got someone in mind to gift them to later. Just don't grab extras you won't use.
– 8 May 2025 13:00
The deals keep coming. The Game Collection just dropped a slightly cheaper Switch 2 bundle. Same Mario Kart edition, carry case, 256GB SD, and Cyberpunk 2077, but no Hitman. Still stacked, just less assassin-y. If you can live without Agent 47, this one's worth a look.
– 7 May 2025 16:15
Also, not a drill. For the first time, the Switch 2 is up for pre-order at the My Nintendo Store without needing a golden-ticket invite. You do need a Nintendo Online membership to log in and access the code. But if you're in, you're in. No bundles, no extras. Just the console. The cleanest, cheapest Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order deal live right now. Membership holders: time to pounce.
– 7 May 2025 16:05
This is not a drill. The Game Collection just dropped a chunkier Switch 2 bundle: Mario Kart World Tour Edition, a carry case, 256GB SD card, plus physical copies of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hitman: World of Assassination. Granted, it's pricier. However, if you were planning to grab those games anyway, this might be your moment.
– 7 May 2025 16:00
Smyths pulled a fast one. The Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Bundle flew in, hovered briefly, then vanished mid-refresh. We had it. Then we didn’t. Instead of grieving quietly, we thought we’d drag you into the heartbreak too. Hopefully, next time it sticks around longer.
– 7 May 2025 14:40
Do you have this page bookmarked? We'll let you know as soon as we have any news. For now, all the retailers who might have Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders available are listed above.
– 6 May 2025 17:45
We're keeping our eyes peeled for any Switch 2 on-sale news. In the meantime, there's been an encouraging development for Switch (is it too early to start calling it Switch 1?) owners. With the most-recent Nintendo software update, Switch 2 games and upgrades are appearing on the same US eShop as Switch games. A shared infrastructure should mean continued support for the Switch long in to the future. Good news for anyone sticking with the original console.
– 2 May 2025 10:15
Morning, troops. Still all quiet on the Nintendo front. No restocks yet. Morale’s low. Supplies are dwindling. We're one update away from turning this into a dramatic war diary. BUT… there’s an Amazon glitch doing the rounds: Hit this pre-order link, and it'll fast-track you to the basket page. If you get “empty basket,” don’t retreat. Keep the tab open, refresh, and wait. Some are breaking through. It’s glitchy. It’s messy. But it's our only lead. Godspeed.
– 30 April 2025 10:00
It’s official: the Nintendo Switch 2 is out of stock everywhere right now. Either we wait for a miracle restock or start a dramatic countdown to 4 June, when Amazon, Argos and Currys launch at midnight.
– 28 April 2025 10:00
Amazon stock? Gone. Poof. Nothing but tumbleweeds. We'll shout loudly when they're back, promise.
– 25 April 2025 17:00
Tiny restock alert: The Game Collection has a few Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders live. Not loads. But if you're desperate enough to sprint, now's the time.
– 25 April 2025 12:05
Switch 2s are officially endangered this morning. No sightings yet. But here's hoping.
– 25 April 2025 09:00
Checked Amazon for Switch 2s? Yeah, us too. Nothing. Check back and we can act surprised together.
– 23 April 2025 15:00
Baskets at the ready: Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundles are live on Amazon. Go!
– 22 April 2025 17:00
As of right now, no Switch 2 stock anywhere. Our search party is still out. Will shout from the rooftops should we find anything.
– 21 April 2025 16:15
This is not a drill: ShopTo.net has just dropped Switch 2 stock, and it looks like it might hang around for a bit. Move fast, though. Note: the bundle includes the Nintendo Switch 2 camera and stealth carrying case.
– 15 April 2025 11:30
No restocks to report today. We're manifesting EE and Argos bless us with a quick (but much-needed) restock. Stay tuned.
– 14 April 2025 18:00

In the meantime…
While we wait, fingers hovering over baskets, eyes locked on Lakitu's green light, it's the perfect time to catch up on everything the Nintendo Switch 2 will deliver.
What's new with the Nintendo Switch 2?
Nintendo's next-gen hybrid console is shaping to be more than a safe sequel. Building on the DNA of the original 2017 model, the Switch 2 ups the ante across the board, with the headline upgrade being the screen: a bigger, brighter 7.9-inch handheld display (up from 6.2) now equipped with 1080p resolution and HDR support. In docked mode, the console can push up to 4K and hit 120Hz on supported displays. To get the most out of your Switch, head to our Best TVs guide.
Under the hood, a hefty 256GB of storage offers plenty of room, far more than the meagre three-to-four-game limit of the 32GB launch model or 64GB OLED. Physically, it's bigger and heavier, with a sleeker profile, added USB-C port and more ergonomic Joy-Cons.

What is the Switch 2 release date?
Nintendo have scheduled the Switch 2 for worldwide release on 5 June 2025. Lock in your Nintendo Switch 2 pre-orders now, so you can hit the ground racing come launch day.
How much will the Switch 2 cost?
In the UK, the Nintendo Switch 2 will go on sale for £359.99, or as a Mario Kart World bundle for £429.99.
What games are available on the Switch 2?
Backwards compatibility is confirmed – last year's best games and your old favourites will run just fine – but Nintendo's giving the Switch 2 its own wave of upgraded titles and, in some cases, exclusives to show off what the new hardware can do.
Some games are getting a visual and performance boost in their "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" re-releases, including Tears of the Kingdom, Breath of the Wild and Metroid Prime 4. Other titles, like Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza, are skipping the old hardware and launching exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Here's the confirmed Switch 2 launch day line-up:
• Arcade Archives 2 Ridge Racer
• Bravely Default Flying Fairy HD Remaster
• Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition
• Deltarune
• Fast Fusion
• Fortnite
• Hitman World of Assassination – Signature Edition
• Hogwarts Legacy
• Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess
• Mario Kart World
• Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour
• Nobunaga's Ambition: Awakening Complete Edition
• Puyo Puyo Tetris 2S
• Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma
• Sid Meier's Civilization 7 (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition)
• Split Fiction
• Street Fighter 6
• Survival Kids
• The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition)
• The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition)
• Yakuza 0 Director's Cut
Among the line-up, two titles in particular are already shaping up to be early essentials.
2.
Mario Kart World

Mario Kart World is Nintendo's first open-world racer and the standout Switch 2 launch title. Expect sprawling maps, wild weather zones, and local and online multiplayer. It's available solo or in the official bundle. Skip it, and may Kamek curse your new console with eternal stick drift. Your move.
3.
Donkey Kong Bananza

Donkey Kong returns with Bananza, his first full 3D adventure since the N64. You'll smash through mines, ruins, and jungle chaos while facing VoidCo, a villainous tech cult. With the level design aesthetic of Mario Odyssey, it launches 17 July as the Switch 2's first major post-launch title. Bananas may contain lore.
Post-launch, Donkey Kong Bananza will swing into view on 17th July. Looking further ahead, Kirby Air Riders and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment are locked in for 2025, while FromSoftware's new title, The Duskbloods, is expected to arrive sometime in 2026.
Head to our Nintendo Switch 2 game guide to lock in your pre-orders before the launch day.

What accessories are available for the Switch 2?
Waiting is painful, but there are a few must-have Nintendo Switch 2 accessories you can pre-order right now: the Joy-Con 2 Wheel Pair for more immersive racing, the comfort-focused Pro Controller with mappable buttons and a GameChat feature, a tough Carry Case with a screen protector and space for accessories, and the new Switch 2 Camera for face-to-face co-op chaos.
If you're narrowing it down, here are the two we'd call essentials:
4.
Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller

The Pro Controller offers HD Rumble 2, motion controls, mappable buttons, and a GameChat shortcut for more traditional, comfortable pad play. Ideal for longer sessions, Smash Bros. button-smashing, and anyone used to PlayStation or Xbox controllers.

store.nintendo.co.uk
Designed for travel, this case includes a screen protector, cleaning cloth, space for six games, and slots for your Joy-Con 2 straps. If you need more room, the All-In-One Carrying Case fits the full TV setup – dock, console, cables, and all. Like a suitcase, but for Mario.
That said, when it comes to the Carry Case, it's worth considering third-party options, especially if you're not attached to the Nintendo logo. Many offer more storage, better protection, or a slimmer design, often for less. Just make sure it's Switch 2 compatible.
