Though its impossible for Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffats sleuth update to live up to its best telly ever! reviews, even die-hard Conan Doyle traditionalists will get a kick out of the second series a funnier, sillier, more confident follow-up to the much-loved first season. The shows continued success will rely on it ignoring its own ever-expanding hype no mean feat.
