How have they managed to keep this so fresh and funny??
By rights, Scrubs should not be funny anymore. The surreal dream sequences (so Ally McBeal), the its-like-that-time-when jokes (so Family Guy) and the hospital setting (so Greys Anatomy) really should have worn thin. After all, we now know that Dr. Cox has a soft centre, Turk a serious side and that Elliot and J. D. are more than walking neuroses, but even with the raised stakes in this fifth season (our heroes get their own interns; Carla and Turk deal with pregnancy; Cox suffers depression), the sharp writing and casting continue to keep Scrubs out of the emergency room.
