There’s a sad symmetry in Glee’s success coming so soon after the death of John Hughes. You can’t help thinking Hughes would have approved of these singing and dancing geeks, in a school where the popular kids have more hang-ups than the rejects. It’s those soapy problems that keep us riveted as much as the virulently catchy soundtrack.
