Director’s Commentary Review

A simple idea well executed, Rob Brydon’s cult series is a delight.

Brydon, under the guise of director Peter De Lane, rambles his way over segments from television shows as diverse as Bonanza and The Duchess Of Duke Street. Brydon’s streams of consciousness recall invented on-set anecdotes in a way reminiscent of Spinal Tap’s wonderful in-character DVD commentary — and there really can be no higher praise.
