Shootings and ever-more fanciful plot devices came later, but while never quite kitchen-sink drama, Dallas’ first two seasons are certainly more grounded than what was to come. Bobby brings new bride Pam home, Larry Hagman launches J. R. with charismatic flourish, and all the embryonic OTT nonsense you’ll remember is in evidence over these 29 episodes — with Sue Ellen’s descent into drunken despair proving especially entertaining.
