Very Best Of Goodbye Again, The Review

In 1968, national comedic treasures Peter Cook and Dudley Moore were lured from the BBC by the ITV shilling to produce four Goodbye Again TV specials. At an hour long and with pretensions of breaking the US market, the material became flabby and the show bombed.

But here, distilled to around 80 minutes of highlights, the absurdist brilliance of Cook’s writing and Moore’s clowning does break through. Not as funny as the defining Not Only… But Also material, but worthwhile for fans.
