The idea of a serial killer marshalling an army of cultists is a scary one. The fact they’re all obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe makes it considerably less so. Kevin Williamson works hard to pile up the twists, but it’s both silly and grim, and it’s hard to imagine where it’ll go in Season 2. Murders based on Stephen King?
