In its third season, Misfits lost its own super-power: Robert Sheehan. The most charismatic of the cast quit abruptly, leaving the show struggling to find a new centre, heaping a lot of expectation on new ‘funny one’ Joe Gilgun (This Is England). Gilgun’s an inspired addition, but less focused scripts mean it takes most of the season for the new mix to settle. However, the closing chapters are the highlight of the run so far.
