 Review
The high concept of this American TV drama is a mix of Alias’ fantastical espionage and the revisionist R. L. Stevensoniana of Jekyll. Super-efficient, slightly psycho secret agent Edward (Christian Slater) has a chip in his brain, meaning he can hide in the identity of normal family man Henry. When the chip malfunctions, Henry becomes aware of his other (more dangerous) life while Edward is prone to shut down and leave the office worker to cope with enemy agents.
It’s cheerfully absurd, with funny turns from Mädchen Amick (soccer mom) and Saffron Burrows (dragon lady shrink) as the respective love interests, plus two-for-the-price-of-one work from Slater. The nine-episode run resolves some issues, but it ends on a cliffhanger in the hope of another series.
