Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen
Review For Transformers fanboys, Revenge Of The Fallen is a wild and explosive wet dream come true. Featuring a huge range of controllable Autobots and Decepticons – each of which whirr and clunk with detail, and look intimidating as they tower over puny human cityscapes – the deranged action is brought to life by intuitive controls that allow players to scramble up the side of skyscrapers, rain death on their opponents then transform into a military chopper to make a quick getaway, all with the simplest of button strokes. The destructible environments, where lampposts, office blocks and other structures crumble to dust as you stomp over them, also breathe life into the lumbering automatons, and the adventure’s imaginative arsenal of weapons really comes into its own in the frantic multiplayer mode.
For those unmoved by robots in disguise, however, the game’s bland environments, humdrum shooting and clichéd missions will be a disappointment, in turn making the experience a tiresome long-term proposition. Still, if you spent your formative years struggling to fold action figures into convincing toy cars, this may be the Transformers experience you’ve waited for.
