Infamous

Review
Ditching the sleepy platforming and brawling traditions most game developers plump for when bringing deific daredevils to life, InFamous is the closest thing to the perfect superhero adventure since 2004’s glorious Spider-Man 2.

Like the web head’s freeform adventure, InFamous offers players a huge and vibrant city to explore, with the essential missions that drive the story forward punctuated by optional challenges, random skirmishes and a demanding populace struggling to come to terms with Armageddon, constantly tempting players off the beaten path and revealing the incredible depth, scale and colour of the game’s grim urban sprawl.

And while the thrill of having the freedom to explore the city and tackle the adventure in any way you choose makes players feel like a superpowered vigilante – and the hero’s electrifying special powers are terrific fun to use – InFamous’ morality system refines the familiar blockbuster formula, allowing you to choose a path of good or evil as the plot unfolds and earn different endings depending on the virtual life you lead.

Visually it's not the best the console has to offer (although it's an undeniably good-looking game) but the strength and addictiveness of this game lies in the growth and development of the character as he develops through the story and chooses his path at frequent key points through the game. Very entertaining experience, and worth playing to take both versions of the story. ... Read More

RE: My favourite game on the PS3 so far!!!!!

Not been playing this game for long, but so far I it appears to be excellent.  I am all for games that don't force you down one specifically laid out path, and this definetely gives you greater depth of gameplay.   Cool powers and storyline add to this to make what I have found, thus far, to be a superb PS3 game. ... Read More

My favourite game on the PS3 so far!!!!!
Empire User Rating

Thankyou God for bringing out a descent game out on the PS3 and not out on the XBOX. inFamous is absolutly brilliant, i love the freedom to the game. you can pretty much climb up anything, you get awsome electrical powers that you can use for the good or bad. There are plenty of side missions but i have to say they couldn't have done a better main campaign because the storyline is superb. ... Read More

My favourite game of 2009 so far!

The comparison to Spiderman 2 is spot on - there's that level of freedom to roam the breadth and height of the city - as well as the mini side missions, collectibles and random battles that you can get involved in, or just carry on through the main mission, earning new powers and building up your old ones. The best thing, other than the very cool powers you earn and improve, is your means of getting around the city, which consists of scrabbling up, around, over and between buildings, in an ad... Read More
