Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Legend
Review After blindly jumping the same shark since Tomb Raider II, the swashbuckling series has alienated just about everyone charmed by Lara’s digital debut. But in taking the series back to its roots, Legend is a return to form. By ditching the modern environments of recent Raiders in favour of dusty tombs, the mandatory exploration and puzzle-solving once again become gripping, an experience enhanced by new acrobatics and gadgets such as a grappling hook to help you scale impossible barriers.
Gunplay has also been improved and the graphics are stunning, making Legend a fine introduction for anyone who missed Lara’s PS1 classics. But if you grew tired of Tomb Raider a decade ago, this probably won’t relight your fire.
