Project Gotham Racing 3

Project Gotham Racing 3
Review
Every time a new console hits, slavering gamers – seduced by flashy graphics and the thrill of a new machine – are quick to hail certain titles as the best example of their genre and renounce everything that went before. But while Project Gotham Racing is a solid, great-looking speedster, it’s certainly not the world’s greatest driving sim.

Like all 360 launch titles, PGR3 boasts remarkably slick and stylish visuals, the shiny motors weaving around tracks based in New York, London, Tokyo, Las Vegas and Nurburgring, each packed with familiar sights and scenery that are sure to take your breath away. The Gotham TV online option, where you can sit back and watch the world’s best players in action, also helps create a unique sense of community, and the fact that your car takes visual damage as your bump and grind around the tracks makes for a more satisfying experience than the PS2’s Gran Turismo 4.

But while the graphics are stunning and the sense of speed is frankly terrifying, PGR3 doesn’t offer any gameplay leaps when compared to its illustrious Xbox predecessors, and there’s nothing here to make you feel as if you’re playing the world’s most powerful console.

RE: Project Gotham Racing 3

Can someone in Bristol who has this please get in contact so I can come round and play it?  I can't afford a 360, but I have PGR2 on xbox and I'm pretty good at it if you want a challenge?!   I know this sounds like begging and to be honest it is.  I'm not scary or anything, I just don't know anyone who has got it and I neeeeed to play it.   Cheers.   I expect I'd rate it 6/10 if I had it! ... Read More

With regards to Empire's review, three stars for this when Need for Speed: Most Wanted manages four is taking the royal piss in my opinion, that small issue aside however the game is fantastic, worth buying purely for the Xbox Live play. My only gripe would but the rather short lived career mode. ... Read More

RE: Project Gotham Racing 3

It's good shit. I hadn't played the previous two Gotham games to regardless of the previous titles, this for me was a five star, top notch launch game for the 360. It's graphically awesome but crucially it's got fantastic gameplay. Highly recommended! ... Read More
