Timeline

Plot
A ruthless corporation invents a device that can 'fax' solid objects, the latest of which is a good professor (Connolly). Trouble is, eveything is being zapped back to 14th century France. Some of the professor's students go to rescue him, and end up in a medieval war.

Review
Timeline takes the most ridiculous movie plot ever and multiplies it by ten. A ruthless corporation run by David Thewlis has created a device that can 'fax' solid objects, but it has aligned with a wormhole in time and everything gets sent to 14th century France.

When archaeology professor Billy Connolly is the latest item to be zapped, his students and colleagues set off to rescue him. Entertaining silliness takes a nosedive, however, when the film is forced to become a medieval action adventure, as our heroes side with the French to defeat the nasty English.

That in itself should be enough to remind audiences that this effort from Superman director Donner has been gathering dust for ages, long before Bush and Blair's 'special relationship' and 'freedom fries' changed the agenda.

Very Good.

I remember watching this around my family and everyone else fell alseep apart from me and I thought it was a bad movie. It was only until I found out that my sexy actor Gerard Butler was in it that I took a second look and it was very good. The story is okay, the stars are alright apart from Paul Walker (still wondering why he would be the son of Billy Connenly) But Gerard Butler shone like hot cakes, he is without doubt a action hero and I would love to see more of his work being put to good us... More

RE: Not that bad

What could have been the best time travel thriller since Twelve Monkeys is botched by an awful script and bland direction.  Read the brilliant book and see how Twelve Monkeys became George of the Jungle. ... More

RE: Not that bad

Timeline falls into that category of film that gets so roundly slagged off (Jonathon Ross verbally annihilated it) that when you watch it you actually quite enjoy it! I thought it was worth a watch ... More

Not that bad

It's not as bad as two stars. It's an okay adventure that you musn't take to seriously. Just sit back and enjoy the ride you know. It has thrilling situations, okay acting and is just pure fun. ... More
