Eleven year old Georgie (Smith) is a school boy who's not afraid to pinch a pocket or two to fund his passion for football. Little does he know but one of those pockets belongs to Manchester United great Sir Matt Busby (Cox). Seeing something in the boy, he offers to come out of retirement to manage his team.
Retired Man Utd. legend Sir Matt Busby (Brian Cox) coaches grieving prodigy / scamp Georgie (Jack Smith) and pals in a school-kid tournament. Character contrivances and predictable plot test the patience, while flashbacks to the1958 Munich Air Disaster strain for a pathos that never feels earned.
A well-meaning but corny football fable.
