Life in turmoil, wannabe playwright Imogene's (Wiig) pretend suicide sees her fall into the care of her gambler mum in New Jersey (Bening). There she discover that her dead dad may not be as deceased as she'd been led to believe.
Kristen Wiig is left adrift a film about a woman who falls from the Manhattan highlife to the tacky doldrums of her New Jersey childhood home. Thin and farcical, but the mismatched result sorely lacks either comedic energy or dramatic truth.
A thin soup of weak jokes and contrived drama.
