The Big Wedding

Plot
Long-divorced couple Robert De Niro and Diane Keaton spend a wedding weekend pretending to be still married to avoid offending the sensibilities of their adopted son's birth mother.

Review
The Big Wedding

It's clear writer-director Justin Zackham has tried to shake up the family rom-com formula, but adding a lick of sex and some risqué language won’t do it if you cram in so many clichés — the cast, though stellar, have all been here before. <p>So, drama haunts another Amanda Seyfried wedding, Robin Williams plays another eccentric priest, Diane Keaton’s another underconfident-yet-fabulous matriarch and Katherine Heigl’s still unlucky in love. Meanwhile, the decision to cast Ben Barnes as a Latino and then make race an issue is bizarre. Only Sarandon and De Niro emerge with any dignity.

Verdict
Ben Barnes as a Colombian? Really?

Ben Barnes as a Colombian

They probably heard his faux-Spanish accent in Prince Caspian and mistook him for a Latino. ... More
