Caesar Must Die Golden Bear-winning drama

Plot Veteran filmmakers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani take their cameras behind the bars of a prison to record the inmates prepare for a production of Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Review
Despite some moments of raw power, the octogenarian siblings’ monochrome documentary about inmates in Rome’s Rebibbia prison enacting Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar too often feels like scripted reality to convince, and lacks the subtext to intrigue.
Verdict A hit in Berlin, the Taviani siblings' doc has plenty of wit and punch, although compared to the best of the medium - Man On Wire, for instance - it sometimes comes off as guileless and clunky.
