Paranormal Activity 4
Heeeere's Katie

submit to reddit

Plot
It's five years after Paranormal Activity 2 and the family of 15 year-old Alice (Kathryn Newton) have moved into the area. With her dim-bulb boyfriend in tow, the camera-keen Alice records a series of increasingly spooky occurrences as the kid from across the street, Robbie (Brady Allen), comes to stay.

Review
Paranormal Activity 4
Katie (Katie Featherston), possessed back in PA1 (spoiler!), moves across the street from this year’s haunted teenager (Kathryn Newton) and leaves creepy kid Robbie (Brady Allen) with the heroine’s family while she’s in hospital. Cameras are set up and weird stuff happens, again. Like PA3, this comes from the Catfish team of Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman, and takes a less serious approach to the shudders and shocks than Oren Peli’s quietly devastating original. Newton is a bright spark, Allen gives good creepy kid, there’s one neat plot trick and the ‘boo!’ moments still work.

Verdict
Catfish pair Joost and Ariel Schulman keep the franchise firmly on track with a satisfyingly scary fourth instalment.

Paranormal Activity 4

The story never goes anywhere, and the scares can be seen from a mile away. This fourth installment begins the series' essence of "only for the fans". At least the teenagers aren't totally boring... ... More

say again?

@Ghidorah you actually assert that you haven't seen these films and yet feel entitled to comment? And negatively!? And what are the 'obvious reasons'. I am astonished at this. Can you actually read or write? Aside from this, these films are brilliant and quite timeless. The 4th is another installation and that is all I will say. ... More

Warning Spoilers

Please don't read if not seen movie yet. Just watched the movie and am very disappointed. Thought the 1st & 3rd movies were great but this one slips back to the quality of the 2nd which I also didn't like. There were so many plot holes. For example: how come Wyatt turned out to be hunter? Did Katie give him up for adoption after killing her family? Was she struggling to be a single demon mother? Was she robbies' mum or did she just claim to be? Who was Robbie in all this? Why did the dad not... More

MEH!

Saw this last night and in comparrison to the other 3 (which I found quite terrifying) it was awful. The last 30 seconds frightened the life out of me but the rest of the film was actully quite comical! They've left it open for a 5th film too which you just know will be even worse. I'll probably still go and see it though LOL ... More

RE: Paranormal Activity 4

I haven't seen any of these films for obivious reasons. The first Paranomral Activity may had an interesting concept but the second then third and fourth.................. It's all the same thing, same plot exception to different leads. I'm honestly surprised the leads haven't bought a ton of 3d camcorders and set them up in their house. ... More
