Hit And Run
It's driving in the streets of LA, but not Winding Refn style

Plot
A former getaway driver threatens to blow his cover in witness protection when he hits the road with his girlfriend for the opportunity of a lifetime. Things heat up quickly as the couple are pursued by feds and band of gangsters.

Review
Hit And Run
A cast of great charm is not enough to cover the many tonal and story issues in Dax Shepard’s second film as director. Kristen Bell plays a teacher offered the job of her dreams, which requires a move to Los Angeles. This presents a problem for her boyfriend (Shepard), who is in the witness protection scheme and faces probable death in LA. Of course, they go anyway. It lurches between farce, car chase movie and indie drama in a way that constantly jars.

Verdict
There’s the suggestion of a good comedy filmmaker here, but in trying out too many genres in one film Shepard winds up with something that never settles or fully engages.

Hit & un- No Hit and you'll want to Run

Attended a premiere screening of this Comedy/Action/Road Movie hybrid and wished I hadn't. The script was self-indulged and completely unfunny and while Shepard (who stars in, co-directs and writes this dross) fancies this as a True Romance style success, he is way off the mark. The sloppy filmmaking (badly shot action scenes) and completely rubbish script co-operate in making this infinitely miss-able. A dreadful attempt at making an edgy film. ... More
