Plot
Seven stories around a single week - one story per day, with several characters reappearing throughout. The catalyst here is Teddy (Hutcherson) a young American with dreams of becoming an actor, who comes to Havana for the first time. Review
This anthology of seven stories (from seven different directors) set in Cuba’s capital is patchy. Benicio Del Toro’s piece amiably hooks Josh Hutcherson up with a tranny, Gaspar Noé’s is typically stylish and subversive and Elias Suleiman’s is drolly funny. The rest veer between the kitsch and the overly cute.
Verdict
Varying in quality and in tone, these seven shorts don't do more than scratch the surface of life in Cuba's capital. They also steer well clear of any political comments.
