The Vow
... to honour and obey as long as I remember you

Plot
Inspired by a true story, the film traces Paige's (McAdams) struggle to recollect her life with her husband (Tatum) after she loses her memory in a car accident. Tatum then puts all his efforts to winning back the love of his life.

Review
The Vow
Amnesia, the most cinematic form of brain damage, is once again the focus as a young wife (Rachel McAdams) loses all memory of her husband (Channing Tatum) following a car accident in this romantic weepie. It’s a premise so melodramatic it screams true story, but thankfully this is intelligently written and sensitively played. McAdams is excellent as a woman struggling to recognise anything of herself in her marriage; Tatum surprisingly heartbreaking as the decent guy dealing with the loss of his true love. There are a few wobbles into predictability — inadvertent nudity, a troublesome ex — but by underplaying the drama and largely avoiding the obvious, this proves surprisingly emotional.

Verdict
The few weaknesses in the plot can be overlooked as The Vow makes for a wonderful - if a bit teary - romance that is brilliantly acted.

Watched yesterday with the missus: tp://www.imdb.com/title/tt1606389/]The Vowooking at the fact that I have an HUGE weak spot for Rachel McAdams, on forehand there already could be very little wrong with this. In this predictable (but based on a real story) romantic drama she again very convincing again as a woman who loses her memory after a car crash and doesn`t remember her own husband. Both the side of the character that Channing Tatum`s character (and me as a viewer as well of course) fa... More

RE: what a surprise!

First off i went to see an In Blackday,Valentines day,and ended up seeing d,as to my surprise the chiller was booked out. Now that said i did enjoy the story and the acting was pretty good, plus the bonus of seeing Sam Neil as a overbearing Dad in any movie is great(in fact just seeing he's still around is good).Rachel McAdams always a good act to watch and Channing Tatum, who's new to me are both good in this romantic drama based on real events??Now don't go expecting The Notebook, and yo... More

One of the most surprisingly good movies I've seen this year - although Tatum is still wooden as an actor as he's always been, it's such a brilliant romantic drama ... More
